Shared Services has been around for over 20 years and is recognised as an important model for the delivery of back office services to large businesses. It allows business units to operate more efficiently and effectively, and focus on their operation rather than ancillary tasks.
Recent disruption to the traditional model has led to the introduction of new models and technologies, and changes to the design and operation of Shared Services. This disruption has caused a shift in thinking, with Shared Service teams now expanding their support into knowledge management as well as the typical business services.
Allan Mills is a Partner in Deloitte’s Finance and Performance Management practice and leads the team in NSW. The team focuses on supporting CFO’s and Company Executives with performance reporting and improving back-office operations, including Shared Services and outsourcing.
Allan has worked across multiple industries and presented in global forums on the topics of Shared Services and Performance Reporting. When not supporting clients, he is a mentor for the High Resolves global mentor program, working with high school children to build their skills and confidence to make a global impact.
Allan will provide insight into the current global trends from the most recent Global Deloitte Survey, how and why the scope of Shared Services is broadening to deliver greater value to business, and the hot topic that is just around the corner and causing waves globally: Robotics.
